Materials and Classification
Ceramic sanitary ware products can be divided into the following categories by material:
Porcelain sanitary ceramics: Water absorption rate is less than 0.5%, with characteristics of high strength, non-water absorption, and good thermal stability. However, the production process is complex, and the cost is higher.
Vitreous sanitary ceramics: Water absorption rate is between 1% and 8%, with small shrinkage, low firing temperature, and low cost. However, it is easy to absorb water, and has poor thermal stability.
Production Process and Quality Standards
The production process of ceramic sanitary ware includes raw material processing, molding, drying, and firing. In terms of quality standards, Chinese standards stipulate that the water absorption rate, rapid cold and hot performance, and whiteness of sanitary ceramics are clearly defined. For example, the water absorption rate of semi-porcelain sanitary ceramics is less than or equal to 4.5%, it can withstand three rapid cold and hot cycles without cracking, and the general glaze whiteness is greater than or equal to 60 degrees.
